Peer Review Process

At Helix Journal, we follow a rigorous peer review process to ensure the integrity, quality, and originality of all published articles. Our process is transparent, fair, and designed to support both authors and reviewers in maintaining academic excellence.

Review Workflow

Manuscript Submission

1. Manuscript Submission

Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts through our online submission system. All submissions must adhere to the journal’s formatting guidelines and include all required supporting documents.

Initial Editorial Check

2. Initial Editorial Check

Once submitted, the manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editorial office. This includes:

  • Verifying completeness and adherence to submission guidelines.
  • Checking for plagiarism.
  • Assessing the relevance and scope of the manuscript.

Only manuscripts that meet the basic requirements are sent forward for peer review.

Peer Review Process

3. Peer Review Process

The manuscript is assigned to expert reviewers in the relevant field under a single-blind or double-blind review model (depending on journal policy). This phase includes:

  • Evaluation of the scientific quality, originality, clarity, and validity of the manuscript.
  • Reviewers submit detailed feedback and a recommendation (Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject).

Reviewers are given a standard timeline (usually 2–3 weeks) to complete the evaluation.

Author Revisions

4. Author Revisions

Based on reviewer feedback, authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts. Authors must:

  • Address each reviewer comment systematically.
  • Highlight changes made in the revised manuscript.
  • Submit a detailed response letter explaining the revisions.

Revised manuscripts may undergo additional rounds of review if needed.

Editorial Decision

5. Editorial Decision

The editorial team reviews the revised submission and the reviewers’ recommendations to make a final decision:

  • Accept: The manuscript is ready for publication.
  • Minor/Major Revisions: Further revisions are required.
  • Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal standards.

Authors are informed of the final decision along with reviewer comments.

proof reading and copyright submission

6. Once accepted:

Based on reviewer feedback, the editor may accept, reject, or request revisions from the author before final acceptance.

  • The manuscript is copyedited and formatted for publication.
  • A final proof is sent to the authors for approval.
  • Authors must submit the signed copyright form before publication.

After these steps, the manuscript is scheduled for publication in an upcoming issue.

Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality and impartiality.
  • Evaluate the manuscript's originality, clarity, methodology, and impact.
  • Provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest.
